Barron Gives Youngsters Chance To Shine
Pools Youth Team bring their season to a close this weekend when they travel to York City on Saturday (11am kick-off).
A win from the game - which takes place at City's training grond - would secure at least a third-place finish for Micky Barron's men which would represent another excellent campaign.
City are eight points and two place behind Pools in the Youth Alliance League table and Joe Race's goal earlier in the season at Chester-le-Street was enough to separate the sides.
Barron already has one eye on next season and is set to blood several of his younger players this, weekend having named eight Under 16s in his squad.
As well as that, Johnny Evans and Daniel Johnson step up from the Under 15s to join the Youth Team for the firs time.
"It's all about looking at the younger players and seeing them in action," Barron explained.
"It's always nice to finish a season with a win but I think we're looking at more than that this weekend really.
"We know that these lads can perform individually but it will be good to see how they work as a unit and will give a hint about what we'll be like next season."
We'll have a full report on the game here on the Official Website on Monday morning.
