Young midfielder Jonny was signed up on professional terms at Pools, even before the end of his scholarship with the Club.

His promising performances for the Youth Team and Reserves had led to other clubs monitoring his progress but Pools acted quickly and Rowell decided his future lay at Victoria Park.

The youngster was included in the First Team squad for the trip to Crewe Alexandra near the end of last season but unfortunately sustained a nasty injury playing for the Reserves later that week and was ruled out for the rest of the campaign.

An energetic player who likes to run with the ball, Jonny is very highly-rated by the Football Staff at The Vic.
