Jan burst on to the English football scene with Doncaster Rovers when he a made a heroic debut in the Carling Cup against Manchester City. The Danish keeper stopped three penalties in a memorable shootout to send Rovers past their Premiership opposition.
Danny Wilson was well aware of the huge keeper's ability and moved quickly to secure his services upon his release from Rovers and he joined Pools in the summer of 2007.
The 6ft 4in stopper also has experience of playing in the Championship when he spent time on loan with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
