Difficult Decisions Have Been Made
Pools today announced the list of players who have been released by the Club - with six names leaving The Vic.
And, while Manager Danny Wilson was able to give some players the news they would be staying with Pools, he admits that breaking the news to those released is never easy,
"It is a difficult time for everybody concerned at the Football Club," Wilson told the Official Website.
"Whether you're management or players, it is not an easy time.
"You make decisions based on the last twelve months and there are always players who you release that come back to bite you on the backside and I hope that is the case.
"But the economics of any Football Club mean that you have to make changes - you can't just wait for every player to mature."
And the Pools' Boss reveals that no decision has been made lightly,
"It is a very difficult time and some tough decisions have to be made by the Club and they have been made.
"Let's hope that the boys who have been released can push on and forge out a career elsewhere and the ones that are still here can help to push the Club forward.
"Like anything, you have to cut your cloth accordingly unless you have benefactors at the Club who are willing to put in millions of pounds.
"You have to try and run the Football Club based on your income and that is what this Football Club is trying to do."
