"Obviously we started the game really well and put them under pressure from the off. We got our rewards for that with the goal from Michael Mackay which we were delighted with. But with Godwin going off, we lost concentrating and let them back in to it really. It was disappointing the way we conceded the first two goals because even with Godwin off the field we should have been able to get through that period. Ten minutes lost us the game at Gillingham and ten minutes lost us the game at Yeovil and that's something we need to change."

"Every club you go to you are going to experience things like this where there are lots of injuries at the same time. There is no good time to pick up so many injuries but coming up to Christmas and the busy period of games it's not ideal at all."

"It's not bad is it?! I think he's come back to get his canoe hasn't he? It really is a daft one. He must have thought he was going to be found out so he's come up with a cover story. Though I'm not sure it's gone exactly how he had planned!"

"We talked about the Jose Mourinho thing but it seems like he has better offers in the pipeline. Cappello is a manager who has won something at pretty much every club he's been with so he'll come in and not worry about reputations or egos. He'll pick whatever team he thinks will be the best and the players who are left out will have to deal with that. I think one of the decisions he'll have to make is whether Gerrard and Lampard can play together - if he decides they can't then one will have to make way and get on with it."

"The Club held their Christmas lunch on Tuesday afternoon and it was a good laugh; the comedian was excellent. We've got a players Christmas do coming up and this year all the lads have to go in fancy dress. We all had to draw a letter from the alphabet and then dress as something beginning with that letter. Michael Mackay wanted to go as Shower off Karate Kid so was desperate to get 'S' but ended up with 'P' so I think he's been asking whether he can come as a Power Shower! Most of the lads have kept it secret what they're going as so I won't tell you what I'm going as but it should be a good laugh."
